Grange Resources
Grange Resources Limited is Australia’s largest integrated iron ore pellet producer. Grange owns and operates the Savage River magnetite iron ore mine in north-west Tasmania and the associated pellet plant and port facility on the State’s north-west coast.
The company is also a major partner (70 percent) in the development of a world-class Southdown magnetite project, near Albany in Western Australia.
The Savage River Mine has been operating since 1967. The operation comprises a magnetite mine with an expected mine life beyond 2030 and an integrated pellet plant and port facility exporting up to 2.5 million tonnes of premium quality iron ore pellets annually.
The mine and processing facilities provide local employment for 600 people, injecting $60 million in salaries into the local economy each year as part of its total annual expenditure of $250 million.
