My name is Shane Dolting and I’m a Drill and Blast Engineer at Grange Resources Savage River mine. I was born in Launceston and raised on the Coast at Burnie. I am one of a family of five children all of whom have moved interstate at some time or other throughout our adult life for better work opportunities or to gain skills.
I personally have had some great opportunities interstate gaining skills experiences and eventually a university education in my field. I would like to think that these opportunities could be available here in Tasmania for our children. I consider myself to be a lucky Tasmanian who is able to see my kids grow up around their grandparents and family. This is possible because of big picture industry who provide these opportunities both directly and indirectly.
