While studying at University of Tasmania it became apparent to me and many of my fellow students that when graduation time will come we will have to look at moving to the Mainland due to the lack of sufficient amount of career developing opportunities in Tasmania, it is a more or less silent verdict.
Within a year following my graduation I had to move to Melbourne, which made me to appreciate Tasmania’s tranquillity more than ever. One day while contemplating “where else I can move to get a good job” I have come across Nyrstar advertisement and I couldn`t believe my luck. It was a life saver for myself and my Tasmanian born Partner to be in a situation where we could live in the place that we love without compromising my career.
I couldn’t agree more with the saying “Tasmania is Australia’s best kept secret” I just wish that we were doing more to support companies and industries that enable us to live here.
